One classy pooch

This brilliant animal walked right by his half full water dish and went right for a different kind of bowl.  I guess in his mind, the dog bowl was half empty and the toilet bowl was half full.  I'm feeling a bit pessimistic about his selective optimism.

Interestingly, he didn't even look up when I came in to take the picture.  I have to respect the dogged indifference.

Claire Soccer week six

It was a close game this week that was decided by two sketchy calls-- one that resulted in our team missing out on a goal, and the other resulting in the other team being awarded a questionable goal.  It was a bit frustrating, but it was a fun game to watch.

Claire's fourth week of fall soccer

Two games again this week.  I wasn't able to get pictures of the first game, which they won either 3-0 or 4-0 (depending on who you ask), but I was there for the second game-- a 2-1 loss in Portland.  The second game started at 5:30 and didn't finish until about seven.  As a result, it was bordering on dark near the end of the game.

Only Claire's game in pictures today

There were a total of three games today-- Andrea and I were each able to watch two.  I got pictures of Claire's game.  Her team won 3-0.  I was worried about the scoring situation in the first half because they had gone two games last week without a score, but they got three fairly quick scores in the second half today and got the win.  Audrey and April's teams also won again today.  I didn't get to April's game, but I understand she knocked in a couple goals.  Audrey also got a goal today and someone pointed out that their team has yet to give up a goal this fall.  Pretty impressive.

The "A's" were on the pitch again

Audrey put away another goal this week and her team won again.  Her game was in Lebanon, so it was nice to be playing on a nice grass field rather than the concrete, grass-hating wasteland in Albany.  April's team was shut out today.  I understand the team she played had a few ringers and the word on the street is that they have been hustling some U6 soccer games on the side.  I guess you can't blame them, what with the state of the economy and all...
