The story goes like this... Apparently the kids were doing a back pedaling drill (running backwards) when the coach yelled out for everyone to look at what a good job Claire was doing. This compliment apparently swept Claire off her feet and landed her on her back with her left arm gruesomely bent under her.
While she has been disappointed about missing spring soccer, Claire has attended all of the games (to cheer on her team) and has been mending quite well. Earlier today, she was able to switch from a cumbersome and bulky splint to a sleek and sporty brace. With uncomfortable practice, the doctor said she would soon be able to rotate her palm from the down to the up position. She was unable to accomplish this after coming out of the splint this morning.
By the way, I also have a sweet picture of Claire's bent arm that I took on my cell phone before the fracture was reduced. My reliably crappy phone will not allow me to dump the picture onto the computer, but I'm more than happy to gross people out with that one in person. Now you know when I ask if you want to, "see something gross" what you have to look forward to!
